The National Response to the COVID-19 National Emergency justifies an Extension and Amendment of Emergency Declaration No. 2020-002, which the FMCSA declared on May 27th, 2022. The Emergency Declaration was instituted to declare a national emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and its guidelines have recently been updated. The emergency declaration’s prolongation was announced on May 27, 2022, but recently expired on August 31, 2022.

After the expiration on August 31st, 2022, the FMCSA announced the extension of its COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, which offers motor carriers and drivers engaged in direct assistance in support of the nation’s COVID-19 national emergency regulatory relief. It also allows for more supplies and equipment to be provided for necessary relief. It was implemented to provide help and assistance in regard to transportation of fundamental commodities and relief services as well. On October 15th, 2022, the emergency declaration’s prolongation came to an end yet again.
