Sanctuary States Use Tents as Temporary Housing For Migrants

As the number of immigrants increases throughout the nation, shelters became overcrowded and completely filled up which forced sanctuary states to begin using tents as temporary housing for migrants. The mayor of New York City has stated that he intends to build tents the size of hangars to serve as temporary housing for thousands of foreign migrants who have been bussed into the city as part of a Republican governors’ operation to sabotage federal border procedures. The city is struggling to find housing for the estimated 13,000 migrants who have ended up in New York after being bused north from border cities such as Texas and Arizona. Among the ideas for housing being considered are tents, cruise ships, as well as summer camps.

The location of the first tent has been suggested to be in an isolated area of the Bronx, specifically a parking lot near a well-liked city beach on Long Island Sound where there is little access to public transit. In addition to this location, other places are currently being investigated by officials. An illustration of the facility’s expected layout, made public by the city, depicted endless rows of beds. Although the city provided few additional details, it is claimed to be likely that the tent would be heated due to autumn nights in the city having the ability to get quite chilly.
