Uniting for Ukraine was announced on April 21, 2022, to help Ukrainian citizens and their immediate family members come to the United States and stay temporarily for two-year parole. Individuals participating in Uniting for Ukraine must have a supporter in the United States who provides them with financial support for their stay in the United States.

The Ukraine Parolees, who have arrived in the United States, are obligated to go through medical screening for tuberculosis and take additional vaccinations if required. The Department of Homeland Security has extended the time frame for the parolees’ medical screening. The parolees are required to complete their medical attestation within ninety days of their arrival in the United States.

The mandatory attestation must be completed in the parolees’ USCIS online account. Parolees are accountable for arranging their vaccinations and medical screening for tuberculosis including Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) blood test. If anybody tests positive for tuberculosis, they are mandated to take additional screening like a chest radiograph, isolation, and treatment.
